I believe counselling should begin with curiosity, compassion, and respect — not judgment or assumptions about what is “wrong” with someone.

My approach is trauma-informed and non-pathologizing. I recognize that many of the ways we cope, protect ourselves, relate to others, or respond to difficult emotions can develop through our experiences and relationships. Therapy is not about reducing a person to a diagnosis or a collection of symptoms, but understanding the whole person and what may be contributing to how they are feeling today.

I approach counselling collaboratively. You are the expert on your own experience, and my role is to bring clinical knowledge, evidence-informed approaches, and genuine curiosity to help us understand what is happening and determine what might help.
